The surrounding counties are: New Kent to the southeast, Henrico to the south, Goochland to the southwest, Louisa to the west, Spotsylvania to the northwest, Caroline to the north and King William to the northeast. At this time, most of the Hanover Woodys lived in southeast corner of the county in the area around Cold Harbor.
